Chiang J. Li, MD FACP Founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Medical Officer. Formerly, Dr. Li was the Chief Scientific Officer & Executive Vice President of ArQule Inc (NASDAQ: ARQL). He has also served as founder or co-founder of Cyclis Pharma (acquired), ArQule Oncology (Nasdaq:arql), Cequent Pharma (acquired), and Boston Biomedical (private). Dr. Li has over 60 inventions and has translated a number of his medical innovations to patients for the treatment of cancer, and other life threatening disorders. Examples include: 1) BBI608; a first-in-class cancer stem cell inhibitor, phase III ready; 2) BBI503; a first-in-class cancer stemness kinase inhibitor, phase I trials; 3) Tivantinib (ARQ197); a first-in-class c-Met inhibitor with a class-leading profile, global phase III oncology trials; 4) TransKingdom Gene Silencing Technology; bacteria-based gene silencing, in phase I trials (the first oral gene silencing clinical trial cleared by FDA); 5) aiRNA technology; 2010 North American Technology Innovation of the Year Award (Frost &Sullivan), considered a potential game-changing innovation. Dr. Li graduated from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Science and Technology, received his M.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School, completed his residency and fellowship at Brigham & Women's Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and conducted postdoctoral research under Prof. Arthur B. Pardee. He also serves as co-Director of the Skip Ackerman Center for Molecular Therapeutics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, and has published numerous highly cited articles in leading journals. Dr Li has received executive education at Harvard Business School. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious recognitions including induction to America's Top Physician and direct election as a Fellow of American College of Physicians.
David S. Leggett, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Leggett has over 17 years of experience conducting
and overseeing biological research. Dr. Leggett joined
Boston Biomedical, Inc. from ArQule Inc, where he served
from 2003 to 2006 in several roles, most recently as Associate
Director of Project Management and R&D Biology Operations.
During this time, Dr. Leggett oversaw 10 oncology programs
ranging from early discovery to development, and functioned
as senior project manager in the preclinical development
studies and filing of 2 investigational new drug applications
(ARQ 197 and ARQ 171). Prior to joining ArQule, Dr. Leggett
conducted research at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Leggett
holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia
and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of
McGill.
Wei Li, Ph.D., Vice President of Product Development & Business Affairs. Since the inception of Boston Biomedical, Dr. Li has successfully undertaken management responsibilities for multiple product development projects including BBI503, and the pharmaceutical development of BBI608. Dr. Li is also responsible for business affairs, partnership negotiation and management, and oversees Boston Biomedical's intellectual property. Dr. Li joined Boston Biomedical from ArQule Inc. Before joining biotech, Dr. Li was a faculty member at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Li completed post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, received her Ph.D degree from Georgia State University, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Sun Yat-sen University. .
