Manager, Clinical Outsourcing & Vendor Management

The Manager, Clinical Outsourcing & Vendor Management will manage the clinical trial outsourcing, vendor selection and contract negotiation process for Boston Biomedical’s R&D organization. Manages the identification and assists in driving the vendor selection process of R&D vendors such as CROs, Central Labs, IRT, Imaging, Specialty Labs, PVG providers etc.  

Responsibilities

  • Serves as initial contact for outsourced activities.  Manages the identification and assists in driving the vendor selection process of R&D vendors such as CROs, Central Labs, IRT, Imaging, Specialty Labs, PVG providers etc.  
  • Collaborate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, at a departmental and a cross-department levels to ensure Boston Biomedical vendors perform to the highest level
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures to ensure contracts maximize value whilst minimizing risk across the organization
  • Lead the negotiation and managing of vendor budgets and contracts along with vendor budgetary changes
  • Ensure all outsourcing decisions are properly documented, compliant and audit ready
  • Assist with cross-functional development of continuous improvement solutions and risk mitigation strategies to implement and measure success of the new/revised processes with external service providers
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of vendor relationship management, governance and quarterly contractual reviews
  • Manage and/or facilitate issue escalations at the operational level and ensure timely escalation to senior leadership when appropriate
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently on specifically assigned tasks.  Individual will be organized, detail oriented and possess financial aptitude.  In addition, individual will demonstrate comfort in working in a dynamic past paced work environment and along with the ability to multi-task
  • Develop tracking tools (spreadsheets, databases, etc.) and assist in the monthly accrual process and financial reporting
  • Establish collaborative and productive relationships with parent company, internal/external partners and relevant affiliates/subsidiary/s
  • Perform other duties as requested 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with at least 5 years’ experience in Procurement and/or Outsourcing
  • Extensive experience generating RFIs, RFPs and Vendor Selection
  • Strong strategic and analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability.  Able to deliver at high quality, in a fast-paced dynamic environment and able to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to proactively identify and act on opportunities for operational efficiencies
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and MS Project
